Summer is in full swing and there is no better time to get your house staged for selling. Setting up your house to look appealing to buyers can seem like a daunting task, but as always, Design2Sell has got you covered! Everyone knows staging the inside of your house is important to any home selling process, but one thing you can’t forget about is the outside. You only get one change to make a first impression, so curb appeal and outdoor living are important. We pulled together four of our favorite tips to help you spruce up your outdoor assets to prepare for selling and staging your Atlanta home this summer.
1. Flowers
Take advantage of the summer weather to get outside and plant some flowers. The first thing anyone sees when they visit a home is the front porch. Line the front side of your house and sidewalk with colorful flowers to give it a welcoming look and feel. You can choose from a wide variety of different colors and styles to help accent your home, from long-lasting perennials to fun annuals Or, consider adding color in the form of planters along the stairs or by the front door.
2. Patio Cleaning and Styling
We’re in the heat of summer and everyone knows that means cookouts and fun family gatherings held on the back patio. Before listing, give your patio a good cleaning to help buyers envision themselves hosting gatherings in their new home. Consider pressure washing if needed, replace or repair any wood that may need it, or apply touchup paint or stain as needed. Wipe down or wash any patio furniture and décor and consider adding colorful summer accents so it looks inviting. The patio would be another great area to incorporate the colorful flowers in planters! After your patio is cleaned and restyled, it will be ready to sell.
3. Pool Cleaning
Once you’re done refreshing the patio, head to the pool! If your home has a pool and you’re listing it during the summer months, potential buyers will surely want to see the watery oasis. Give it a nice cleaning before any showings, and clear the deck of any clutter or toys, and neatly arrange the poolside furniture to make the area look attractive and inviting!
4. Pressure Washing
To finish off the neat and clean look you’re trying to sell, pull out the pressure washer and get down to business! Spray the sides of the house, the driveway, the porch and stairs, and anything else you can reach. Any potential buyers will see the clean look of the house and get excited for their new home. Never underestimate the power of a good pressure wash and scrubbing!
